at home spring activities

Redford is 2 years old!!!!! He is getting so big and so much more fun! He really is the most joyful human I know. He is loving all the challenges and has been more engaged in the activities we have been doing. And since we have been having some good weather lately (PRAISE JESUS) we have been going outside more. I set up some stations for some free play in the backyard so he can have fun but also have activities!

water beads: He LOVES to pop these in between his fingers, but he really loves to pour the beads into out cups. This is great for him because its not super messy, and it is very sensory base. You can purchase on Amazon: waterbeads

hide & seek: Redford loves his dinosaurs so much! We have many MANY little dinosaurs for him to play with. One of our new favorite games to play is hiding our dinosaurs, in the backyard and letting him find them! I put them on the ground, in trees, swings, patio furniture and he loves to look for them! It's fun to play "I SPY" with different colors of the dinosaurs and also when we find them! We bought ours at target dollar section. $3

car/animal wash: Redford Loves to wash his animals or cars. We usually let him sit in his highchair, or we go outside(now that is is warmer!!) I give him a paint brush (from hobby lobby) and put some soap in the bowls and he loves it!

abc scramble: We used a Melissa & Doug abc puzzle, to hide the ABC's in a container of cereal (we use cereal so its safe for him to eat) to find and match the puzzle. I put on the ABC song for him to sing along to as we complete our puzzle!

track tape: I made this for Redford while he was sleeping so that it would be a surprise when he woke up from nap! I used scotch tape, and created a track for him, I placed the tape on furniture so it would be a fun and unique track!

sink play: Redford is so big that he likes to stand on the step stool we have! I let him stand on the stool to wash his hands before/after eating. He really loves to play in the sink with the water. I gave him some beads to place into an empty water bottle, and then moved him to the sink for him to play with the beads and the water. He decided he wanted a bigger vase to drop the beads in, so he placed the beads in the vase, one at a time. I added water for him to fish the beads out as they floated around in the sink. It was a hit!
