Winter Time!
Welp, the time has come, winter time. Sadly this is my least favorite time of the year. Redford and I avoid outside play at all cost. Our schedule used to have a lot of outside play time. We would go to the park, have water play, painting, chalk and even sports play outside. So, with the 20 degree weather coming in fast our schedule looks a little different. I noticed some of his favorite things to do are:
- Sam Noble Museum: Membership ($45) -- its worth it completely worth every single penny. Redford and I started going when he was about 9 months old. He was in a stroller and we would go and typically spent about 30-45 minutes in the exhibit. As he got older, and walking I would let him go and walk around freely, He loved to run around! His absolute favorite was seeing the buffalo! Now, Redford is almost 2 and he is loving it more than ever before. He is at the age where he can look and touch all the buttons, lift the discovery blocks as he looks at the exhibits. Now, we typically spend about 1-2 hours at the museum. He loves it so much and is now in love with dinosaurs.
- Gymboree: Membership ($99 for all classes) -- WE LOVE GYMBOREE! I love that we started when Redford was about 1 years old. Gymboree is a indoor play and learn class, with different age groups and even age appropriate play. We learn and play with shapes, songs and obstacles. Parents play and learn with their littles and get to make friends with other littles their age in class. We love their music class, letting them explore different instruments and songs. We go three times a week.
- Get Air: ($8) -- Get Air is an indoor trampoline gym. They offer toddler time from (10am-12pm) Parents jump for free with their toddler(s) you need to purchase special socks which i believe were ($5) they are non slip socks that your toddler and you will receive. If you do not plan on jumping that is OK, but i would recommend it because you wanna be close to your little if there is an injury. Redford loved it so so so much! It's a great workout for you littles if they need to let their energy out. I have never seen Redford so happy and joyful... okay I totally have but It was really really fun!
- Barnes and Noble: (FREE) -- Trains, Trains, Trains. Yes, we go for the train table in the children area. Redford and I started going once a week. We started staying maybe an hour every time and now he loves it so much we stay for at least an hour now. Our routine is, grab a treat at the Starbucks cafe and then move to the children area. We typically grab a new book to add to his collection every visit. I will let him pick on out or give him some options.
- Library: (FREE) -- Okay, this one is super fun! We have stopped going because of the germs for winter time. We do not want to catch the flu and sadly the sick kids do not stay home when they are sick like they should. This is still an option if you don't mind! Go for it! They have story time, and music time. We used to go religiously and I think he enjoyed it a lot. He loved the play area. They have (animals, blocks, trains, puzzles, legos, cars, and computers) It is a great place to take your little to get some socialization and fun discovery time.
Redford and I go on one/two outings a day. Typically one in the morning and then one in the afternoon. We also love grocery store shopping! We usually stick to target and sprouts. I do not know which one is his favorite because he loves his food, and he loves his toys! When we go to Target he gets to pick out a toy, it is usually always a toy animal. But we get to add that to his collection! The dollar spot is one of our faves also. We will grab bubbles, coloring books or even pre school age learning kits.
